Last year Aik Saath was involved in a project with English Heritage and the United Indian Ex-Servicemen of Slough. The project involved Aik Saath peer conflict resolution team members recording the recollections of the Indian Servicemen's contributions during the Second world War. FennerFest and Aik Saath illuminated the spire of St Mary’s Church to celebrate Slough’s different cultures and our common ground. From 29th October to 6th November multi-coloured, morphing lights on the spire symbolized the spirit of Slough – mixing and merging together to show the amazing mix of cultures and communities that make up our town. The lights were seen by upward of 1 million people! This featured article covered the launch event. (04/10/05)
